The play before
the play.
Abilities can create information, break a sightline or delay a rotation—even without damage. We study what changed, who could use that change, and for how long.
We build advanced performance metrics.
We look for the contribution
between the highlights.
A well-timed ability. Space created for a teammate. A decision that changes an entire round. Competitive impact is richer than the final score.
CosmicForge Data is an early-stage, independent FPS analytics initiative with a not-for-profit mission. We develop statistical frameworks and algorithms to make those contributions easier to understand.
Our focus is Counter-Strike and VALORANT. Each game needs its own definitions, context and evidence.

Understand the player.
Same action.
Different meaning.
Build a hypothesis.
Then test it.
Follow the action, the opportunity
and the impact that comes after.
Abilities can create information, break a sightline or delay a rotation—even without damage. We study what changed, who could use that change, and for how long.
Information becomes useful when a team can act on it. We examine how players create, occupy and retain space, and where an opportunity becomes a measurable outcome.
Timing, equipment, player roles and teammate support change the meaning of an action. Multiple metrics offer complementary views of performance.
Our work begins with questions.
Our conclusions must earn their place.
Study matches and identify contributions that deserve a closer look.
Give each metric a clear purpose, a measurable scope and explicit limits.
Develop game-specific features and algorithms from properly licensed data.
Compare the model with match evidence. Account for uncertainty and game updates.
Framework development & data-access exploration.
Our first metrics are under development. No validated performance scores have been released.
For publishers, organisers & data providers
We are seeking access to official historical FPS competition data to develop and evaluate our research.
Discuss data access ↗Competitions, rosters, maps, rounds and game versions.
Eliminations, damage, equipment and ability events.
Positions, timestamps and effect durations, where available.
Help us ask better questions.
We welcome people who care about competition and want to understand it more deeply. Contribute a perspective, a method or a technical skill.
Expressions of interest for volunteer research collaboration. No paid roles are currently advertised.
